AI receptionist for pet care and grooming
Quick summary
Next Gen Calls builds, connects, launches and tunes your pet-care receptionist for you. While your team is caring for pets, the agent can answer approved questions, collect the owner's request and follow your booking or staff-review path. Your people decide suitability, care needs and which visits can be confirmed.

Understand the visit
Separate a new pet inquiry, an existing booking question and a request that needs your staff.
- 02 →
Gather useful details
Capture the owner, pet, service and preferred timing using your approved questions.

Confirm the next step
Use the agreed booking path or hand the request to staff with a clear summary.
Illustrative workflow. We confirm the connected actions and permissions for your setup before launch.
Keep the phone from interrupting the pet in front of you
A ringing phone can arrive during a check-in, a grooming appointment or the busiest part of daycare pickup. The caller may need a simple answer, while your staff need to keep their attention on the animals and owners already there.
A useful receptionist starts by finding out what kind of help the caller wants. A new owner asking about a first visit needs a different conversation from someone checking a pickup arrangement. An owner worried about their pet needs your approved route to a person. We build those paths around the services and decisions your team actually handles.
Give new owners and existing bookings different paths
For a first inquiry, ask for the details staff need to review the request:
- The owner's name and callback number.
- The pet's name and the service requested.
- Whether this would be a first visit.
- The preferred day or general time.
- Any question your team should answer before a visit is offered.
Your staff choose any additional pet details needed for that service, such as size or coat information for grooming. The conversation should use your approved questions without making a care assessment.
For an existing booking, focus on the appointment or question the owner is calling about. A request to change a visit should be recorded clearly. It should not be described as a completed cancellation or reschedule unless that specific action is supported, approved and successful.
A practical example: a first grooming inquiry during pickup
An owner calls about a first grooming visit while the front desk is checking out other pets. The agent asks for the owner and pet details, the requested service and preferred timing. The owner mentions something that your groomer normally reviews before accepting a first visit.
The agent follows the staff-review path. It explains that the request has been captured and what the owner should expect next, using your wording. If a staff member can take the call, they hear a private briefing before the warm transfer. If nobody answers, your backup and fallback rules apply.
The AI call summary gives staff a useful starting point: a new-pet inquiry, the requested service, preferred timing and the question awaiting review. This is an illustrative workflow, not a customer result. A captured inquiry is not a promise that a place has been reserved.
Make booking requests and confirmed visits easy to tell apart
Decide which visits can follow a connected booking path and which need staff approval. A familiar service may have different requirements from a first visit, a longer groom or a request your team cannot assess over the phone.
We confirm the Gingr connection and any booking actions for your build. Integration availability does not mean the agent can check every requirement, change every pet record or accept every reservation. If a time cannot be confirmed, the owner should hear the next step rather than an invented opening.
Keep your approved hours, service descriptions and booking instructions current. Your staff remain responsible for deciding whether a visit is suitable and for any care advice.
Help your team pick up the conversation
Agree who receives each kind of request: the front desk, the groomer or another staff member. Routing can follow business hours and holidays. A backup group and voicemail fallback give you a defined path when the first person cannot answer.
An AI summary after every call helps the next person see what was asked and what remains unconfirmed. Calls can be handled in English and Spanish, with more languages available. We test the wording and human route in the languages selected for your launch.
Follow-up is a separate choice. If you want to reconnect with an owner who asked about a visit, we can scope Engagement calls or Micro Agents SMS/email around appropriate contact permissions and a clear stopping point. An inquiry should not become an open-ended campaign by default.
Bring your front-desk questions to the build
Bring your service list, intake questions, booking instructions, hours and transfer contacts. We build, connect, launch and tune the receptionist around that information.
Before launch, test a first visit, an existing-booking question, an unavailable service and a caller who needs staff. Also try an unanswered transfer. Check that the summary distinguishes a request from a confirmed visit and that the conversation leaves care decisions with your people.
A friendly note: have your team approve the privacy and contact wording used with pet owners.
Common questions
Can it help with grooming and daycare calls?
Yes. We build separate approved questions for the services you offer. The agent can answer common questions, capture a request and follow the connected booking or human-handoff path. Your staff approve eligibility and care decisions.
Can it work with Gingr?
Gingr is a verified integration. We confirm the records and actions available for your build. Do not assume automatic reservation acceptance, pet-record changes or requirement checks from the integration name.
Will a preferred date be treated as a confirmed booking?
Only a successful, approved booking action should be described as confirmed. If staff must review the pet, service or time, the agent records a request and says what happens next.
What if a pet owner needs a person?
A phone call can be warm-transferred with a private whisper briefing. We agree business-hours and holiday routing, a backup group and the fallback when nobody answers. Your staff keep care and suitability decisions.
Can we follow up with owners after an inquiry?
Smart Micro Agent Solutions™ supports SMS and email follow-up, and Smart Engagement Agent™ supports outbound calls. We agree the purpose, contact permissions, cadence and stopping rules before adding follow-up to your build.
